Started as a 3-piece screamo band in 2003, Faced Moment played many shows in Germany, Belgium, France and Luxembourg. In 2004 their released a selftitled album, one year after their demo cd „Leidenschafft“ was recorded and which might still be their most popular work.

Well, this is a strange release. Asslranzn is actually a band without a name or with many names or whatever. According to their label they are just "a very kewl band". And according to their Myspace site they are currently called "Bulldozers of Blood!!!". Whatever. You see, these guys don't take themselves too serious. And so does this music sound like. Probably recorded in a rehearsal room, they play a kind of experimental punk music that really kicks your ass. By the way, members of the band Lara Korona and Life's not like Dawson's Creek record label are here at work.
You can buy this tape for 3 €, but it's sold out at the moment. Will be restocked in November, just check out the label's Myspace site.

Their sound ranges from down-to-earth post-rock melodies over western tremolo slow-motion blues to to epic doom juggernauts. Hey,
just wanted to tell you that i'm not dead. Neither is my blog - maybe. I'm not interested in screamo that much anymore. It actually becomes boring for me that you never understand a word of the singer (well there are definitely some bands I still love, especially some German ones). But, besides a lot of other styles of music (good hiphop, electro, post-rock, experimental stuff etc), I still love listening to punk and stuff like that. Therefore I think it would be a good thing, according to my blog, to not only concentrate on screamo-ish music but also on other styles, e.g, I guess a lot of you enjoy post-rock and ambient music like I do it.

Yeah as you know, November 13th is one of my favorite hardcore/crust bands from Germany - desperate lyrics meet aggressive hardcore music, that's what I like. This strike here is an older split with the rather unknown band Grube und Pendel, who play a kind of epic post-hardcore mixed with elements of bands like EA80 or Fliehende Stürme. I don't know if this band has ever released some other stuff apart from this song.

I guess most of you already heard of Loma Prieta. They are a screamo band from USA / San Francisco that is pretty much tending to rough hardcore & emo violence so they leave no time to breath for you.
This cd was released for their tour in Japan in 2009 and contains the songs from their split 7" with L'antietam, the 'Last City' 12"/cd, the 'Matrimony' 7", the 'Our lp is your ep' one-sided 12''/cd and their demo cd-r. I already introduced Reka to you here. They are a Russian post-metal/sludge/screamo band from Moscow, founded in 2007 by members of the screamo bands Optimus Prime and Forutnae Verbera. In April they went on East-Europe tour together with the French post-metal outfit Celeste and for this tour, they released the first two (untitled) albums of their anthology, which shall be consist of 4 parts. I think Reka is a very great band, they create such a deep atmosphere - I'd love to see them live, maybe someday they play in Germany. Go check them out! This is the new and 2nd album by Matula, a punk band from the north of Germany. Since Tao uploaded a not so perfect 128 kbps vinyl-rip of this album, people waited for a better quality - so here we go. Another split-7" from Germany. Now it's time for the post-punk/screamo duo Mio from Leipzig and the solo post-rock/atmospheric emo project Duct Hearts from Munich. So there are more labels than band members involved in this release, hehe. Anyhow, if you dig music that is played by hearts full of love and deep thoughts you should check this out. Especially the Duct Hearts song is sooo beautiful! And keep your eyes open for the new split-12'' of Mio and Captain, your ship is sinking.
This upload is from a record-rip I did by myself and something went not so well during the rip. So the quality is not the best, but it's much better than nothing. And if you like it you should buy it anyway, it is worth it. At least I added a txt file with the lyrics and further information.

Eaves & Francis Brady - Split

Nice split by two German emo violence bands that both broke up already.
Francis Brady consisted of 9 (!) members, for example, they had 3 shouters and 3 guitarists. They were founded in summer 2002 and called it a day one year later, after releasing a demo cd-r, a s/t 7'' and this split 7'' with Eaves. One of Francis Brady's shouters later screamed in the meanwhile defunct band Deleometer.
Eaves were founded in Aachen in 2000. Before breaking up in 2005, they released a demo cd, a split with Atrox on CD and 2xLP, this split with Francis Brady and a full-length called "Höhenangst" on cd and 12''. 2 of their members went on to play in the band Trainwreck.
I found the mp3s on the internet and their quailty is good, so that I don't have to rip my record. But I scanned the artwork + lyrics of my record and added it to the upload for you, have fun with it.

Hey folks. My friend Nico (Manku Kapak; Julius*shows) from Bremen is co-organizing a show in his hometown on April 30th.

"Hallo! Am Freitag, den 30.April starten Mio aus Leipzig & Captain, your ship is sinking aus der Niederlande hier in Bremen ihre Tour. Beide spielen auf wunderbarer Weise ihre eigene Interpretation von Screamo, zusammen mit der Hardcore/Metal Dampfwalze aus Bremen, an der Front mit dem ehemaligen Sänger Hauke der Northcore Legenden Age & Assay. Zum Abschluss spielen Koala noch ein paar ihrer Akustikstücke, dieses Mal nicht auf der Straße, sondern im warmen beheizten Freizi.

Die Label-leute von Moment Of Collapse Rec. werden auch da sein, ihr werdet also viele Kisten zum Stöbern von Platten, Tapes & sonstigen Merchkram haben!
Außerdem werden wir gemeinsam für die Bands & euch vegan kochen, wer will kann gerne mitmachen.
Da wir Spritkosten von 150 Euro haben, würden wir uns über Spenden am Eingang sehr freuen!

Rollergirls is a band from Darmstadt, Germany. Formed in early 2006 as a screamo band, they decided to play instrumental music after their shouter left and a second guitarist joined the band. But don't expect this instrumental post-rock stuff like Explosions in the sky or whatever, the Roller Girls stuff is much more punk or rather faster and danceable but just as atmospheric.

Manku Kapak is a young three-piece (Nico - guitar; Hauke - drums + melodica; Malte - Guitar; there is no bassist and they all sing) from Bremen, Germany. And what do you associate with Bremen? Yes, the typical so called "northcore" sound like it was played by legendary German bands like Jet Black, Akephal, Loxiran and so on. Manku Kapak do fit in this tradition and in good old early-90s emocore, but they're not trying to copy other bands. Anyhow, this is a very likeable band who keeps the punk & d.i.y. - flag flying. And furthermore, this demo cd-r is made with nothing but LOVE like we are used to it from Andi / Builtonfriendship Records. There are only 50 (handmade) copies of this demo.

Hey guys.
I'm thinking about working on at this blog, but since most of the emo/screamo thing is really boring me at the time (not every band!), I'll probably change the focus on Ambient (including IDM, Neo-Classic etc.) music cause this is just wonderful and I think there is no way to dislike this kind of music. But I'm not sure whether to open a new blog or just to go on with this one, I think I chose the 2nd option.We'll see.

Failed Suicide Plan, a screamo/hardcore band from Germany, gave me their newest release to put it on my blog. Quite brutal, passionate stuff...I like it! You can buy it for 4 € + shipping. Here their band-bio:
Failed Suicide Plan started in Erfurt, Germany, in summer 2005 as a side project by Stefan, Bjarne and Erbse, but it soon became our main musical project. Some moths later we found Peter, former member of PlanK (r.i.p), as singer. In 2006 after only two gigs we had to search for a new man tacking the drumming duties and we finally found Steppl (Kellerasseln, Fazed (r.i.p)). With this lineup we recorded in summer 2007 our first record, a split with the italian screamo band Al Freddo(r.i.p.), that came out in deecmber 2007 on Frohike and tumorati Di Dio records, both from Italy.
In 2009 we recorded new songs that since are available now on a completely DIY CD-R release since november 2009.
FSP is since 2007 playing around, mostly in "east" germay, but we played also in Italy, Slovenia, Romania, Swizerland an Slovakia.

Also ein ganzer Abend vollgepackt mit Punk, Hardcore und Emotionen und für 4 € seid ihr dabei.

Reka is a post-metal band from Moscow that was formed in 2007 by the members of the screamo bands Optimus Prime and Fortunae Verbera. In May 2010, they gonna play a tour through Eastern Europe with Celeste and will also release their first album then. For me they sound very powerful, I think I can hear influences of black-metal, screamo and sludge.
In the internet I found recordings of a Reka concert at the club "Мир" in a russian town called Щёкино (= Shchyokino) from November 15th '08 and the soundquality is quite ok, so I offer them for download here.

The newest TPTS album/EP and their first output that is also available on vinyl. As usual, screamo with acoustic guitars, but the songs are this time not as agressive as on the Komödie/Tragödie EP but (unfortunately) rather epic and experimental. Well, I prefer the more aggressive stuff. Whatever. The CD version is limited to 150 and the vinyl version is limited to 300 (150 black / 150 red) copies. You And I on Myspace

You and I was a late 90s screamo band formed from the ashes of New Jersey local group Instil and Sky Falls Down. While they maintained the heavy, chaotic elements typical of the genre, their music has traveled well in terms of influence due to its more tuneful and musical qualities. While other bands in the genre often simply played fast, You and I had a very solidly inventive rhythm section and two guitarists who were able to add interesting textures and interplay to the music, incorporating riffs that recalled midwest emo, tech metal, and almost every other punk subgenre; often while holding down vocal parts at the same time. While You and I were by no means the only screamo band to integrate clean vocals and layered harmonies, they did it in the context of what were often atypical song structures, particularly on their final CD, "The Curtain Falls", which was released by Level Plane Records. You And I played their last show on May 8th, 1999 with Saetia, Carlisle, Cable Car Theory, and Stormshadow in the basement of Thursday vocalist Geoff Rickly's New Brunswick home.
This 23 song retrospective finally releases most of the bands out of print material from their first self-titled 7” to the “Within A Frame” CD and ends with three live tracks.

Yes, I already uploaded this one, but the quality wasn't so great. Now I ripped my own copy of the 10'' and this here sounds quite perfect I think.
Some words about the record: June Paik is a German screamo band and they already released a 7'', 12''/cd and a split12'' with Titan, all untitled. On this record, the sound is more somber and the singer is even harder to understand than on the records before...with all that epic instrumental parts and the despaired vocals, the music here lets me sometimes really think of a mix between post-rock and depressive black-metal, hehe. However, this band is really likeable.

Systral was a HC outfit from Bremen, Germany. They were active in the 90s, sharing members with bands like Rusty James, Mörser, Acme. Legendary stuff on Per Koro Records. Dark brutal hardcore with deathmetal and grindcore elements.

Their style is pretty hard to describe...in every case you can hear their screamo - and postcore background, but this rather tends to a kind of mix between nice, simple played pop and post-punk/core. Brandon Peck is actually is actually guitarist of Mouthbreather, but beside this band he's also making very nice music on his own. Quite simply just his voice and his guitar (in most cases) - and I can tell you, he has a really nice voice! Have a listen to his music, it's very beautiful singer/songwriter - stuff. I saw him (and Mouthbreather also) live on stage two days ago and I immediately bought his cd at the merch stand.

Errata from Portugal asked me to put their EP on my blog. They consist of 5 members who play nice epic&melodic screamo, somewhere between Funeral Diner, Envy and some softer stuff...anyway they're quite outstanding! They sing mostly in Portuguese wich is quite unique even in Portugal. It might sound weird but it actually works out pretty well.

They're also looking for a label (possibly a foreign one) and for places to play, not only in Portugal but also throughout Europe.

Hey punks!
It's been one year ago now since I started with my "The difference between life and music" blog!
Unfortunately I got no special present for you ;-). But I wanna thank you for being loyal all the time and for helping me by uploading stuff for me. I also wanna thank all the bands that send me their stuff! Sorry for not putting everything on my blog, but I just want to provide the stuff that is (in my opinion) on the right place here, according to the genre.

Wolves & Ampere - Split

Wolves (rooted in emo hardcore of the early to mid nineties) was first conceived in early 2000 by Brad Wallace and Tim Glowik. In the Fall of 2001 the band really got going with the line up of Tim Glowik, Brad Wallace, Erik Hopp, and Andy Skelly. In their four year existence they released one album (art.culture.work) an ep (Simulation.Transparency.Alienation) as well as two split 7” with Ampere and Sinaloa, and a 12” split with Transistor Transistor. Wolves decided to part ways due to geographic hardship and members growing in different directions creatively. Wolves played two last shows on January 30th, and 31st of 2004 in Amherst, and Boston, MA.

You can find the Ampere songs in a better quality on the "The first 5 years" CD!
